Are you a dynamic and experienced TEAM LEADER looking for a great opportunity to join a growing business? Our amazing team at Boatyard is now expanding and we are searching for a passionate hospitality professional to join our dedicated team.

Boatyard is a vibrant and welcoming casual food and dining venue with great view of Kings Bridge and the Gorge, and sits on the edge of the Tamar River in Park Street, Launceston. We are committed to providing a casual quality culinary experience to our valued customers. Our venue is part of the Norton Hospitality Group with venues throughout TAS, VIC and QLD.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our venue, maintaining high standards of service, and contributing to the overall success of Boatyard Launceston.


  • Proven experience as a Team Leader or in a similar role.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.

  • Food safety certification is an advantage.


  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding customer service.

  • Daily Operations: Assist in overseeing the day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Interact with customers to ensure their experience exceeds expectations.

  • Staff Training: Assist the Restaurant Manager to ensure staff uphold service standards and product knowledge.

  • Quality Control: Ensure food and beverage quality and presentation meet established standards.

  • Problem Resolution: Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and licensing requirements.

  • Shift Management: Assist the Restaurant Manager in managing staff schedules to optimize efficiency and meet business demands.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to implement strategies for business growth and improvement.
