Our team at The Empire Hotel are looking for an experienced (min 2+ years) management couple or manager to take the reins of our 120-year-old venue and run it as their own. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, which includes everything required to meet your pub's financial targets, recruiting, and managing your team members, maintaining your plant & equipment, providing a safe and healthy workplace, and abiding by all laws that govern us. You will receive remote support from our management team, who are here to help and ensure your success in this role. Live-in (private) accommodation is available as part of the Salary Package, and we are happy to discuss further options for accommodation and roster with the right candidate. This is an ongoing, full-time position, ideally suited to a couple, we will also consider single applicants with the appropriate background and experience. Work hours are approximately 38 to 43 hours per week per person. We are offering an attractive salary package, which will be dependent on experience. The role requires Management experience in all aspects of the Hospitality Industry which includes: • Small Public Bar • Intimate Lounge Bar • Gaming Room (15 machines) • Restaurant (65 seats approx.) • Bottleshop • Keno • Accommodation (24 rooms)
The Successful applicant will need to demonstrate the necessary skills to operate a Hotel including:
• Business Acumen – being able to set and achieve budgets & goals • Legislation compliance – Liquor (RSA), Gaming (RCG), food hygiene etc, Gaming License TAS essential (or be willing to obtain immediately) • Leadership –including Leading by example & running a full team (FOH / BOH / Housekeeping / Cleaning/ Retail) • Organisation – being able to run a multi-facet operation • Decisive & Clear Thinking – be able to make decisions quickly & firmly • Creativity – showing imagination & ingenuity • Integrity – be honest and take responsibility • Computer Literacy – Spreadsheets, H&L Software, RMS software (preferred) Applications who are suitably qualified and experienced welcome, and we will contact suitable candidates for interview.
